Worshipful James Achenbach, PM is S.W. Hackett lodge’s Mason of the Year.  Brother Jim is deserving of this honor, because of the work he does to better the lodge and community.  Aside from being continually active in the lodge, serving as Master in 2006, for the past 20 plus years he is the representative of Hackett’s Partnership in Education program.  Because of Jim’s work with Sequoia Elementary School, Hackett sponsors an annual spelling bee with three grades involved and monetary awards to the first three place winners in each grade.  In June, Hackett holds the “Teacher of the Year” event and honors the teacher chosen by Sequoia as teacher of the year with a dinner, certificate and monetary presentation.  Also, for Christmas the Brothers and Ladies donate food for a full Christmas dinner and gifts for the children for six families in need that may otherwise not have a good Christmas.  This prestigious award was presented on September 10th, 2022, by the Most Worshipful Jeffery M. Wilkins at the Grand Master's reception and Mason of the Year dinner.
