Al Bahr Shriners
LEGION OF HONOR UNIT
Chartered 1954

Three SW Hackett Brothers pose with several others from other Lodges, for the Al Bahr Shriners Legion of Honor picture.

Over two hundred years ago Emperor Napoleon founded the French Society known as the "Legion of Honor" whose purpose was to give recognition for distinguished military service to honorable people.  Al Bahr's Legion of Honor was chartered in 1954 and then became a member of the International Association Legions of Honor (IALOH).  Al Bahr Shriners is honored to have had two of their members serve as International Commanders.
Ezra Johnson 1977-1978 and Edmund Dreyer 2002-2003.

The Legion of Honor is comprised of Al Bahr Nobles who have been honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of their country or are serving on active duty.  The Legion of Honor carries the Al Bahr Shrine banner and the colors of the four countries associated with the Shrine in all parades.

In addition to the parades, the Legion of Honor conducts the annual Memorial Day Service at Mt. Laguna.  At their May dinner they honor those members who have passed on.

While the Legion of Honor no longer has one hundred members who march in the parades, we continue to pursue the traditions that have made the Legion of Honor a unit of which to be proud.

"IT IS AN HONOR TO BELONG TO THE LEGION OF HONOR.".

Not only does the Legion of Honor participate in parades, but by request, they are part of any masonic installation or special event where the flag of country and state needs to be carried.
